Traditional Communion

1662 Communion Service

A simple Communion service, that is a said service (no hymns or songs).

Twice a month, on the first and third Sundays, we use the Communion service from Common Worship that is in traditional language; on other occasions, we use the Communion Service found in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

There is usually a short sermon, and the readings used would be the epistle and gospel set in the 1662 Prayer Book.

All are welcome. This service is especially valued by those who want a Communion that is quiet and thoughtful, and also by those who value the traditional language and theology of the BCP.

See our Sunday Services page for details of other services.
