Some of our children with their shoeboxes

2018 was our best year yet for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal.

We started in 2010 with just 40 boxes. Last year, we'd grown this to 169, so we set ourselves the target to reach 200 this year. For the third year running, this has become something the whole village community... more

Vicarage Drawing

We heard today that the planning appeal, which was heard on 3rd and 4th July this year, for planning applications 17/03877 and 17/00062 were both dismissed (that is, refused). Many people have been waiting to hear the outcome of these appeals, so we wanted to let people know as soon as possible... more

Explorers' Nativity at The Dynes

Many thanks to our Explorers group, who braved the snow and ice (along with their parents, and their leaders) to visit The Dynes yesterday afternoon. They sang Christmas songs and carols, and acted out a simple nativity.

The Dynes is closing just before Christmas, to enable Abbeyfield... more

The signed and sealed pastoral scheme

Historically, Kemsing and Woodlands have been two separate parishes. This is a structural point. England is divided up into "parishes", such that every square inch of England is the particular responsibility of an individual parish church. So we had two parishes: The parish of Kemsing, and the... more
