Kemsing celebrated their harvest festival in style again this year.

In the morning, we had two services with a harvest theme - a Communion at 9.15, and an All Age Service at 10.30. At both services we sung traditional harvest hymns, as well as some more contemporary songs with actions at the all-age service. The theme was Jesus the true vine - if we want to be fruitful for God, the only way is for us to remain connected to him.

As in previous years, members of the congregation donated fresh flowers. Tomorrow, they will be taken to about 40 people throughout the village who we think would most appreciate this simple gift from the church. It is the first Sunday of the month, so people also brought their monthly contributions to the Loaves and Fishes foodbank.

In the evening, we again took our Evensong service to The Dynes. Again, we had over 40 people in their dining room for a traditional Evensong service, including canticles and versicles led by our robed choir. The service also had a harvest theme, as the residents and staff had worked hard to decorate the home ready for their harvest festival.

Kemsing Church is looking beautiful, thanks to the tremendous skill of our flower arrangers. Do pop in if you get the chance (the building is open every day from 9am until 5pm).
