This afternoon in Rochester Cathedral, 25 "Licensed Lay Ministers" were licensed for their ministry by Bishop James of Rochester.

Among them was our very own Ruth Mason. Ruth has served among us for many years as a "Licensed Reader". Going forwards, Rochester Diocese will license lay ministers to the new category of "Licensed Lay Minister" (combining and replacing the former 3 categories of Licensed Reader, Pastoral Assistant and Evanglist).

Ruth has completed all the training required to convert her license into the new category, so she was able to join those being newly licensed at the Cathedral earlier today. Congratulations to Ruth, and every blessing on this next chapter of your ministry amongst us.
