From time to time, we are asked what is happening with our planning application for a new church hall and vicarage.
Many local people have taken the time to write to the District Council to comment on the application. The vast majority of those comments have been positive, supporting the application. However not everybody is happy with what is proposed. (That would be the case whatever plans we put in - you cannot please everyone). We have talked with some of those who were concerned, and identified some simple alterations that would meet their objections.
So we decided to submit some simple amendments to the District Council, so that we are proposing to build something with even wider support from the village community.
The knock-on effect of this is that we probably won't receive a decision from them until the end of March or beginning of April. Our view is that this delay is worthwhile, if it means that the new buildings are more to the liking of the whole community.
We'll keep you updated if there are further developments.
