Yesterday, for the second week running, the 9.15 and 10.30 congregations at Kemsing combined with Woodlands for a joint service.

The occasion was the reopening of their church hall. For over 10 years, Woodlands have been planning and saving to refurbish their hall. It's a lovely hall, in the middle of the community. It's used for a lunch club, a weekly cafe, a mother and toddler group, and much more besides. However the facilities were in need of refurbishmentt; the kitchen was not to a modern commercial standard; the toilet did not have full disabled access; the floors were not level; the lighting was harsh and uninviting.

After a 6 month building project, the hall is now back in use. After a short all-age service, and following a time of tea and coffee, David Brazier (the local County Councillor for Woodlands) cut the tape and the cake to open the hall formally. We were surrounded by many friends from Kemsing and Woodlands, and a good number from the local area came to look around during the course of the afternoon.
