Online Donations to End

Sadly, we learnt today that Believe In, our partners to enable people to give online to our work, will not be able to continue that partnership.

Like many similar firms, people could sign up to use them to administer donations. By paying them a fee (typically, a minimum of 5% of the amount donated), they would handle the admin and the marketing. What set them apart was that they had a different arm that would work with charities. Charities could fund-raise without paying any fees at all (except the card-processing fees). Believe In would not make a penny out of a charity - unless the charity chose to upgrade to a fee-based account.

This made them an ideal partner for us. Sadly, they've decided to close down their fee-free charity arm, and only to run with their commercial model. That means we're back to people donating by cheques through the post - until we find another way to accept donations online.

Thanks to all who have given in many ways. Much of it was given towards our new hall, which we are still hoping to build within the next two years.
