Over 40 people gathered yesterday for a short service in memory of Margaret Head-Jenner (1928-2008).

Margaret was an active member of the church for many years, getting alongside people in friendship and helping them behind the scenes.

The gathering was occasioned because the church Craft Group had organised a new picture in Margaret's memory. The picture is a floral scene, with the church building in the centre. Lots of people had designed a flower each, including some who have since left Kemsing but knew Margaret while they lived here. Margaret Goulding had co-ordinated the project, and Les Green had designed an attractive oak frame for the picture. As Margaret explained, it was a real team effort, with each flower representing someone's love and fond memories of Margaret.

After the service, everyone enjoyed afternoon tea together in the church hall.

The picture will hang on the north wall of the nave for the time being. When a new church hall has been built, the picture will be moved into the hall (which will be partly funded by money Margaret gave to the church).
