Today, Christmas Eve, 3 crib services were held in Kemsing and Woodlands churches.
The first was "carols for tiny tots" in Kemsing, in which children dressed up to re-enact the Christmas story.
Then came Kemsing's main crib-service, this year with over 500 people. For the first time, children from Kemsing Primary School had rehearsed the 4 readings, which they delivered with great clarity. Many of the favourite features from previous years were still there, not least the chance to recreate the noise of an animal stable. To round off, we enjoyed mild weather as we visited the large-scale crib at the well and sang our final carols.
Finally, Woodlands held their Christmas crib service. The wooden crib was bare at the start of the service, but the children added the figures one by one as we told the story, using short Bible readings and carols to help us.
